MONTREAL and PITTSBURGH, Sept. 26, 2007 - Canadian National Railway Company (CN) (NYSE: CNI, TSX: CNR) and United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) announced today that their respective Boards of Directors have approved an agreement under which CN will acquire the major portion of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway Company (EJ&E) for US$300 million (approximately C$301 million).
